We were happy to get back to school today after two distance learning days due to a large snowstorm that dumped over a foot of snow on the Salt Lake Valley. Students really enjoyed all the snow at recess today! |

Today was our Valentines Day Party. We began with having students vote for our Valentines Box Contest. Students voted on 18 entries in the categories of Prettiest, Funniest, Most Creative, Coolest, Nicest, & Best Relation to 4th Grade. We then participated in a few different activities before we passed out valentines to our friends. |

Today the Utah Natural History Museum visited our classroom and brought with them some fossils for us to observe and examine. Science Strand 4.1 Emphasize the relationship between fossils and past environments.

Today we were saddened when we arrived at school to find our classroom pet had past away. We do not really know how long Jamal Hal had been in our classroom this year before he was captured and kept as a pet. He has been described as a perfect listener. He was laid to rest in a small grave on our playground during afternoon recess. January 26, 2023
Today we made Valentines Day cards for seniors. Students had fun using their creativity and skills to make some beautiful valentines. |

This Week we are investigating how energy can be converted from one form to another by creating windmills. As wind energy hits the fan blades, they turn a turbine, which converts the energy to electricity. |

Today we made sculptures out of marshmallows, peanut butter, pretzels, and candy. We also played a game with presents and played holiday themed Pictionary. |

This week we are investigating how energy from a battery, can transfer through a completed circuit to power a motor. The battery transferred energy to a motor which spun fan blades and allowed our cars to move across the room. |

Science Structures and functions Today we learned about how bats receive information from their surroundings through echolocation and process or use the information to find their food. |

Science Structures & Functions Today we created a model of a skeletal finger and learned that the string acts like the tendon in a human finger to make the finger bend at the knuckles. |
